Noelle Miller is a contemporary artist whose practice spans painting, murals, sculpture and public art. Since earning her BFA in 2013, she has created work for municipalities, healthcare systems, hospitality spaces, corporate collections, and private clients across the United States. Her work has also been featured on product packaging, including labels for breweries, wineries, and other consumer brands.

Rooted in process and material exploration, Noelle's work is recognized for its vibrant color, expressive botanical forms, layered pattern, and flowing line work. Whether creating a painting for a private collector or a large-scale public installation, her work explores the balance between control and spontaneity while creating spaces that invite joy, curiosity, and connection.

My work is driven by process, material exploration, and the practice of letting go.

I begin every painting with an idea, but never with a fixed outcome. No matter how much planning happens the materials always dictate where the work goes. Learning to follow that process instead of controlling it has become central to both my practice and my life.

Painting is the one place where I feel safe to be completely loud and wild.

Outside the studio, I'm naturally quiet and tend to overthink. Practicing this expressive and free flowing process helps me to step outside of those habits. Bright color, expressive mark making, botanical forms, and layered patterns become a way to express emotions I often to hold back. These choices reflect the freedom I feel while making my work.

People often describe my paintings as joyful but I don't paint joy because it comes naturally. I paint joy because I have to intentionally practice finding it.

Creating and living with bold color, flowers, and movement is a daily reminder to choose curiosity over fear and freedom over control. My hope is that these paintings bring that same feeling into the homes and spaces where they live.

Noelle’s abstract works transport viewers into ecosystems built up through complex layers, bold colors and varied textures.

As environments are layered, blossoming and emotional, so are the marks and textures I make while creating these worlds. The challenge is to never be literal but to capture the essence and emotion of what is trying to be uncovered.
